The pandemic has affected international events, but even in such conditions, countries find opportunities for dialogue. On February 10 was held an international industry online conference "Prospects for cooperation between enterprises of Hungary and Kazakhstan in the field of agro-industrial complex". The international industry online conference was organized in close cooperation with HEPA Moscow - the Moscow partner office of HEPA - the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency HEPA, the Almaty Chamber of Trade and Investment ACTI of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Hungarian Foreign Economic Relations Attaché in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan. The lockdown did not become an obstacle for cooperation and joint discussion of key issues related to mutual trade and areas of the agro-industrial complex. During the videoconference, speakers from Hungary, Kazakhstan and the Moscow partner office of HEPA took part. Speakers and participants presented their organizations, talked about their activities and presented their products, discussed the prospects for mutual trade, investment programs and trade finance systems, a possible organization for the localization of production and the organization of joint ventures in the Republic of Kazakhstan, technology transfer and options for solving the problem associated with waste disposal. The participants also touched upon the topics of certification of goods, logistics and law, identified priority areas for joint activities, assessed the prospects for the development of cooperation between Hungary and Kazakhstan and took into account the likely difficulties associated with the specifics of countries, sanctions and a pandemic.
György Tar, attaché for external economics of the Consulate General of Hungary in Almaty, spoke at the conference with a report “On state support of Hungarian exporters working in the agro-industrial complex”. Dmitry Peshkov, Director of External Communications of the Moscow Partner Office of HEPA, spoke about the activities of HEPA in general and in the agricultural sector in particular. Zhanbyrbaev Zhandaulet Zharkinbekuly, head of the investment policy department of the department of international cooperation and investment attraction of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, spoke about the prospects for cooperation between Kazakhstan and Hungary, and Sultangaziev Kuat Yeleusizovich, director of the branch of Agro-Credit Corporation JSC in Almaty, made a report “Terms of financing ACC ". “The experience of Hungary is important for us, where the sphere of processing agricultural products is well developed, which is now so relevant in Kazakhstan. In Hungary, agricultural machinery is produced, the price-quality ratio of which is of interest to Kazakhstani agricultural producers. At the same time, Kazakhstan should be of interest to Hungarian entrepreneurs as a country where a lot of livestock and crop products are produced that require processing”said Mukhtarhan Nuraldinovich Biyarov, general director of Almaty Chamber of Trade and Investments LLP.
The Hungarian participants also noted great prospects for cooperation. “Many Hungarian companies enter the Kazakhstan market by themselves, offering high quality products. I hope that this conference will support this process and promote the establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation” said György Tar, external economic attaché of the Consulate General of Hungary in Almaty.
