The Moscow partner office of HEPA - HEPA Moscow - has been actively promoting the development of trade relations between Hungary and Russia for more than a year. The agency helps Hungarian companies to enter the Russian market and offer products of European quality.
The Russian market is one of the key markets for many Hungarian companies. In 2020, HEPA Moscow has identified the key export segments. Consumer goods (including food products), information and communication technologies, medical and agricultural equipment, agricultural technologies, as well as mechanical engineering and equipment for the food industry can count on great interest.
HEPA Moscow plans to bring about 10-15 new Hungarian companies to the Russian market in 2021. For this, already in 2020, the agency reached agreements on the supply of products from five Hungarian companies. In addition, in the coming year it is planned to form a list of products that would be interesting not only for federal, but also for regional distributors.
To enter the Russian market competently, HEPA Moscow has to think over the issue of logistics costs, as well as the trade finance system. In the first quarter of 2021, the first trade finance operation is already planned, which shall be the permanent practice in future.
In the coming year, HEPA Moscow also plans to cooperate with representatives of the banking sector. For this, it is necessary to develop a trade and investment financing scheme, which will include a full range of services and all the economic microclimate necessary for Hungarian companies. Cooperation with banks will make it possible to apply for long-term loans to enter the Russian market, as well as partially offset the costs of certification.
“In the new year we plan to reach a new level. We will continue to develop and work in priority areas, while embracing new opportunities and mastering new areas. Thus, it is planned to bring Hungarian products to the country's largest marketplaces, such as Ozon, Wildberries, Beru and others. For this, additional marketing research is carried out, a detailed analysis, and the most suitable options are calculated, which will make the output of Hungarian consumer goods more successful and of high quality. For more serious projects related to medicine, recycling and disposal of waste, mechanical engineering and industry, the potential of working groups on economic and investment cooperation, such as organizations such as the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the MCCI, is used, within the framework of which constant work is being carried out to implement joint Russian-Hungarian projects", - notes Dmitry Peshkov, director of external communications at HEPA MOSCOW.
In addition, HEPA Moscow plans to hold a number of joint thematic events, including those with the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, MCCI, "Support of Russia", the Minsk branch of the BelCCI, the Association of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kazakhstan, as well as a number of regional organizations such as State Institution "Agency for Economic Development of the Leningrad Region" and Department of Foreign Economic Activity of the Ministry of Economic Development, Investments, Tourism and Foreign Relations of the Orenburg Region.
Like last year, HEPA will not ignore participation in major international exhibition events such as PRODEXPO 2021 and Healthcare 2021, where HEPA Moscow organizes Hungarian stands representing Hungarian industry companies. For successful market entry, various business forums and conferences will be organized, and representatives of Hungarian companies will be given the opportunity to speak as speakers.
Over the past year, thanks to HEPA MOSCOW, cooperation has been established with one of the largest innovation centers in Russia - Skolkovo. The cooperation will help to organize for Hungarian companies from the IT sector the passage of the Soft Landing program (a program to support foreign startups). This is the first step towards obtaining Skolkovo resident status, which will give companies many advantages. For example, financial support in the form of grants and preferential taxation. In 2021, HEPA MOSCOW also plans to establish cooperation with similar structures in Kazakhstan and Belarus.
