The Moscow partner office of HEPA MOSCOW has brought a number of Hungarian companies to the Russian market during the year since its opening.

hepa_1_yearThe Moscow office of the Hungarian Export Agency HEPA Moscow (the Hungarian analogue of the Russian Export Center REC), explained PRonline about the main areas of its activities in Russia and the CIS countries over the past year, about key export directions, about what types of Hungarian goods are in the greatest demand among Russian consumers and what are the prospects for the development of Russian-Hungarian trade and economic relations. The importance of the work of HEPA Moscow is great and allows Russian entrepreneurs to develop joint projects with the Hungarian side, creating new jobs and making Hungarian goods more accessible to domestic consumers.

The Moscow partner office of the HEPA agency (HEPA MOSCOW) has been successfully working for a year as one of the driving forces in establishing effective interaction between Russian and Hungarian companies, actively contributing to the development of bilateral economic relations between Russia and Hungary by strengthening Hungarian exports.

Currently, the key export areas of Hungarian business are: healthcare, agriculture, construction, environmental projects, food processing, mechanical engineering and supply industries, creative projects, as well as digital solutions and ICT.

For Hungarian companies wishing to discover the Russian market, HEPA through the Moscow office provides a wide range of information about the market, goods and services, legal regulations, product certification and logistics. In addition, HEPA MOSCOW assists entrepreneurs in negotiating, organizes participation in thematic exhibitions, forums, seminars, as well as B2B events.

A number of HEPA MOSCOW events are held with the participation of Russian business associations such as the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, MCCI, Opora Rossii, and others. Cooperation with these organizations allows attracting the maximum number of stakeholders from business and government agencies. Also, the Partner Office not only actively promotes the Hungarian export products of highest quality in the Russian market, but also provides assistance to Russian entrepreneurs interested in working on the Hungarian market and setting up joint ventures.

Over the past year, HEPA, in cooperation with the Partner Office, organized 5 industry events (exhibitions, conferences and round tables) for Hungarian and Russian industrialists and entrepreneurs, as well as 590 business meetings, during which it managed to establish constructive interaction with organizations such as the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Skolkovo Innovation Center.

During the work on representing the interests of Hungarian companies, negotiations were held with companies throughout the geographical area of responsibility of the HEPA partner office (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia). Hungarian products in the FMCG (food, consumer goods), healthcare and medical products, IT and ICT products attract the most interest. At the moment, Russian partners have ordered products from 5 Hungarian manufacturers (Abonett Kft., Il Perfetto Food Solutions Kft., Thermal Kozmetikai Kft., Cleanne Holding Kft., Herbow International Zrt.). Negotiations of three contracts on cooperation have come to the final stage (EMD Kft., InHalo DSI Hungary Kft., Moon42 RDI Kft.).

In addition was formed a logistics chain, including a consolidator of goods from Hungarian manufacturers, which allows to reduce logistics costs taking into account the use of FTL - transportation (full truck load), rather than groupage cargo.

HEPA's activities were mentioned in 380 publications of the Russian mass media, and the Moscow partner office of HEPA was listed in the company’s business rating of the Moscow business portal "Globalmsk.ru".

HEPA MOSCOW plans to establish a trade finance system for Hungarian business. HEPA Moscow plans to bring 10-15 Hungarian companies' offices to the markets of the countries of its zone of responsibility in 2021. In the industrial and IT sector, HEPA Moscow expects that upcoming events with the participation of companies from the area of responsibility and Hungarian companies will let to launching several joint projects next year.

Thus, SoftLanding programs and further residency in the Skolkovo Foundation will allow Hungarian companies to enjoy the support of Russian government agencies when entering the market in the Russian Federation, the CIS countries and the EAEU. Financial support in the form of grants and preferential taxation will be provided to Hungarian companies, which opens up good prospects for partnerships and sales of high technology products. In 2021, HEPA Moscow plans to establish cooperation with similar structures in Kazakhstan and Belarus.

“Hungary is one of the most dynamically developing European markets. Russia and Hungary have been linked for many years by warm, good-neighborly relations, which are actively developing despite the geographical location and the absence of common borders. The residents of the CIS countries of the older generation remember and appreciate the quality of Hungarian goods. One of the tasks of the Moscow partner office of HEPA is to strengthen the confidence in Hungarian products on the part of modern consumers in Russia, the CIS countries and the EAEU, as well as to increase the share of Hungarian exports to the countries of the Customs Union. These processes are actively promoted by the trusting relationship between Russia and Hungary at the highest government level, which is confirmed by the conclusion of memorandums of cooperation and the development of economic relations between the countries. In a word, it is difficult to overestimate the prospects of bilateral Russian-Hungarian cooperation equally beneficial to both sides. In the coming years, we expect to reach a qualitatively new level in the development of Hungarian exports”, stressed Dmitry Peshkov, Director of External Communications of HEPA MOSCOW.
